SeaTac Airport – Chapter 2
\nPreview from Ron and Bruno: Against the Doctatorship<\/h4>\n
Bruno met me at the airport. He knew I\u2019d need guidance since they were under lockdown. It was the first time I\u2019d been anywhere that had a population of obedient maskers. I was used to defying lockdown orders. I never wore a mask. I wouldn\u2019t get vaxed. And there was no way I was going to supply papers <\/em>to any government official. OR<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou\u2019ll need to put on a mask.\u201d The security officer at baggage claim said.
\nBruno could see me from where he stood on the other side of baggage claim. He was shaking his head and putting his finger over his lips shushing me. But when it came to my freedoms it didn\u2019t take much to set me off.
\nThe security officer asked me again. \u201cMask?\u201d
\n\u201cOh, you mean the Mask of the Beast?<\/em>\u201d I said.
\nHe just looked at me, silent. I put on my mask which had large red letters that spelled out Lamb of God in Hebrew.
\n\u201cWhat\u2019s that say?\u201d He whispered to me.
\nI figured since he whispered, he wanted to keep it between the two of us, so I whispered back.
\n\u201cIt says, Lamb of God, in Hebrew.\u201d
\nStill whispering, he said:
\n\u201cThere are supposed to be 144,000 of us. I\u2019ve been reading a lot about that. Do you have an extra?\u201d
\nI handed him one.
\n\u201cGod bless you.\u201d He said, no longer whispering.
\n\u201cI\u2019ll take that as a real blessing.\u201d I replied. \u201cRemember me in your prayers. My name is Ron\u201d
\n\u201cOkay, Ron. Just call me Hank. Looks like you got a friend waiting for you in baggage claim.\u201d
\n\u201cYeah, Hank. I better be going. Nice meeting you.\u201d
\nI nodded my head to Hank as if tipping a hat, a custom I\u2019d picked up in Arizona. Then I walked over to where Bruno was, but not before getting a good look at Hank\u2019s name tag: Captain Henry Lewis. I repeated the name in my head and to remember, I associated it with John Henry the hard driving man and Joe Lewis the champ. You never know when you might meet a person again. Remembering a person\u2019s name is an act of neighborly love.
\nBruno was nervously pacing at the baggage claim.
\n\u201cI thought you were gonna get yourself arrested.\u201d He said.
\n\u201cAs if what you thought wasn\u2019t obvious.\u201d I replied. \u201cI saw you pacing back and forth like a guard dog locked inside a junkyard fence.\u201d
\n\u201cGot any other poetry for me?\u201d Bruno asked.
\n\u201cWell, I got the best book of poems right here.\u201d
\nI held up my Bible and smiled, looking around me as I said it. A woman with cropped hair and overalls glared at me across the concourse.
\n\u201cAh, Seattle. Good to be back where the women hate me and aren\u2019t afraid to let me know.\u201d
\n\u201cSo why\u2019d that cop stop you for so long.\u201d Bruno asked.
\n\u201cHe wanted to know what my mask said and then asked for one.\u201d
\n\u201cSo, what does it say?\u201d Bruno asked.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s Hebrew. It says, Lamb of God.\u201d I said.
\n\u201cAnd what\u2019s that mean?\u201d He asked.
\n\u201cThe Bible says about Christians in the end times, that they shall see His face, and His name shall be between their eyes<\/em>.\u201d
\nI paraphrased the verse.
\n\u201cBetter give me one too.\u201d He said.
\nOnce we exited the airport doors, I expected to see people walking without masks. But there wasn\u2019t a person in sight without one. Even the maintenance workers on the tops of buildings were wearing masks.
\n\u201cTyranny!\u201d I shouted to Bruno.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s the shits.\u201d He replied.
\n\u201cNo, it\u2019s not the shits.\u201d I said. \u201cI think Jesus is coming soon and that\u2019s fantastic.\u201d
\n\u201cWell, you can think whatever you like, Ron, but today, it\u2019s the shits.\u201d
